Wowwy wow, today was bizzay!
First things first, woke up early to attend my post op follow-up with the Nurse Practitioner. I got all 5 stapled areas removed…I had around 25 staples… :(( And yes it was painful, but not as bad as suspected and was a fairly quick in and out thing.
I was cleared to go back to the gym, but I’m following the Food Lovers Fat Loss System (FLFLS) and will go back to the gym once told to do so. And I was advised to not do any rigorous exercise (ie: zumba, kick boxing) until a few weeks from now. Make sense.
Second, yesterday I joined DietBet, a website I had initially heard from my friend Giname, but never actually lookd into it. Then I was on my friend Erin’s site and she also discovered the site and I explored via her post about the DietBet theory. So in essence, you join a ‘bet’ on this site and the bet is set at a certain cash amount. You bet against all the other folks who bet on the same bet that you can lose 4% of your weight. At the end of 28 days, the folks on the same bet who end up losing 4% will all split the pot. Let me break it down: I joined a bet worth $25 dollars per entry. So I bet $25 dollars that I could lose 4% of my weight in 28 days. At the end of 28 days, if I lose said amount, myself and the rest of the folks who bet on the same deal with me, will split the pot. Currently there are 59 people participating on the same bet, so the cash pot is at $1475. The theory is to help motivate you to be diligent with ya shyett so you either break even by winning your money back or by making money… from others’ misfortune… lol. You can find my DietBet page here. Interesting concept, right? More to come on that!
Also, so today was my first day back at work and it was superrr busy. As I came back, I realized that the Biggest Winner at work is baaaack. We are continuing the ‘Healthrageous!’ fitness challenge, which is based on your level of activity per day, via the wearage of pedometer-like device called a Pebble. This year, they added in a blood pressure component and every week you lose weight, meet your walking/exercising goals and get your blood pressure checked, you get kudos. There are incentives at work for earning kudos, so at the very least it’ll be another tool for me/ a way to earn prizes. I joined up on a team with my friends Katie Finigan & Katy Alea. They’re more doing it for the prizes and just for weight maintenance purposes, which I think is great! Our team name: No Soup Fo’ You! … haaaa. I also suggested team names like ‘jiggaboo’ and ‘bringin it to tha streetz’ as well… they decided to go the more PC route. Figures. :-p hahaha either way, this will be good.
So I’ve been seeing Jillian Michaels on every damn talk show promoting her new book ‘Slim for Life’ and I’ll be honest, I’m a big fan of that lez. She’s legit, she’s a firecracker and I like what she stands for. That being said, I bit the bullet and purchased her new book electronically for the Kindle. Now I’m an old skool gal and would’ve normally Amazon Primed the hardcover book to my house in 2 days quick, but decided to go the Kindle route so I can read her book on my phone while waiting at places or being out and about. Needless to say, I’m excited to read it! She claims this new book sums up all her books at the good need to know info about being ‘slim for life’. Her tips and tricks are in this one book and since I’ve never read any of her books before, I figured… hell, why not?
Ohhh and she’s coming to Worcester on April 30th at 7:30pm for her first ever tour called ‘Maximize Your Life’. I simply want to go just to see her live and hear her ruthlessness and craziness in the flesh… I wanna go! If anyone in the Worcester area also wants to go, lemme know! I think it’d be fun. 🙂
Phew! That was a lot… ohhh and lastly, today was my first day on the FLFLS for my second time ’round. Tomorrow I’ll be vlogging on Days 1 & 2. Figured it’d be more worth the watch to have 2 days in one.
Alrighty, gooood night!
